Product details

Relieve the effects of SAD and rise naturally with the intervention of a simulated sunrise from Lumie, even when the day starts dark and dreary. The Lumie Bodyclock Active 250 Dawn Simulator is a programmable alarm clock that creates a sunrise effect of light in your room to wake you gently and naturally without the use of a buzzing and shocking alarm; choose from a gradual light which brightens over 15, 20, 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes and enjoy the benefits of being woken the way that the body is meant to. The light from the dawn simulator tells the body to stop producing sleep hormones and gently wakes you up; it can also be used to aid unwinding and falling asleep with a sunset option. Additional features include audio with dawn chorus or rooster to help you rise, white noise and waves to help you settle, and dimmable bedside lighting, power back up and alarm function for those ‘just in case’ mornings.

I love this product - falling asleep as the light fades to a warm glow is great, as is waking up as the light comes on. I find I don't use the sound of the waves as often as I thought I would. The chirpy birds wake me up if the light hasn't done it. If I wake up in the night, I put on the Bodyclock light enough to see by, not too bright, it fades as I'm ready to settle to sleep again - perfect!

Bought this lamp a few days ago ,as I have heard they can help with mood in the winter months . Over the last few days I can say after using this lumie light my mood has improved greatly and I would recommend purchasing a lumie light

The gradual light in the morning makes a huge difference to the start of the day. I bought this for someone who suffers through the winter's shorter days and happy to report that the dark morning lack of energy has gone thanks to the sunrise alarm with the waves sound setting. Absolutely worth every penny if you suffer in the winter months.

I feel great, not having the sudden jolt in the mornings from an alarm clock. Because the Lumie bodyclock gently brightens, realistically mimicking the sun, I fully awaken without the need to snooze at all.

I really love the Lumie Bodyclock Dawn Simulator! I've been considering getting one for a couple of years now and finally decided to treat myself to one. It is such a lovely way to wake up on dark dreary winter mornings. Slowly waking up to gentle light is lovely. Plus the added bonus of waking up to either the dawn chorus, waves, cockerel - or bog standard radio if you wish (or white noise - not tried that one!). The only slight downside is the the dawn chorus is repeated on a very short loop, and so after a few mins it can seem quite repetitive (so we've now opted for the waves). However, saying that, I'd still much rather wake up to the sound of birds signing (or now in our case, waves crashing) than a buzzing alarm or an annoying song on the radio. Very VERY pleased I bought this product *thumbs up*!

Great clock. I'm waking up before the alarm almost every day & with more energy than usual. It's a bit annoying that you have to set it each night, but with the settings I have it turns off the display and sets the alarm each night with one press of a button, so it's not too bad. It's very plastic and for the price I would expect something that feels sturdier. Although it looks nice enough on the bedside table.

Really nice sunrise effect. The feature for having the light on dim and a range of relaxing background noises playing is really nice. The gripe I have is the number of buttons and the apparent link between them, I really need to sit and read the instructions ( again) slightly confusing button sequence and the buttons feel 'clunky'

I think having the light as a way to wake up is fantastic However I was a bit disappointed on the user-ability of the product. I paid the nearly £100 for the product with more settings such as sound, appose to the light alarm only for under £40. For that extra amount I was expecting much more than I got. You can't set different times different days, I don't seem to be able to get to turn the screen light off if the alarm is not set, there is no on off switch for the light, and its fiddly to snooze vs. off and there is no ability to change snooze lengths. You cannot get the bird noises to phase in with the lights, they come at the end of sunrise instead, more like an alarm sound. Furthermore it is clear its currently a long way off using wearable or your phone to detect when you are waking up, and adapt to that. Overall I would strongly recommend people get the light only product as its better value for money and this product has yet to be developed to a good level given the price - the UX on the buttons in the morning and evening, and the lack of setting different times one different days/moods is particularly annoying.

I'm sorry but this is a truly awful product, maybe I have a faulty one! Impossible user interface, can't get the light to switch on! Watched the official video on YouTube to try and work out how to use the thing, set it accordingly but this morning no alarm, no light, nothing, how absolutely useless! Can't even turn the display light off despite trying all the options! Really I'm massively disappointed, this product does not deliver what it purports. It totally stressed me out trying to program it and even more so that it hasn't done anything this morning. Sending back and off to get a Phillips one instead. I hope customer services functions better than the clock itself. Horrendous!
